Object of the Game
The object of the game is for each player to predict the number of rounds they think they can win from each hand. At the end of each hand, points are awarded to players who predicted correctly, and points are deducted for players who predicted incorrectly. The player(s) that scores 20 points wins the game. 2-8 players can play this game.
Get to know the cards
The deck consists of a blue set of ‘Playing Cards’ and a red set of ‘Spoiler Cards’.
Playing Cards
- These are numbered 1-10 and are split in four colours making a total of 40 cards.
- The highest number of the same colour card wins the round unless a ‘Gold Card’ also known as the trump card is played, in which case highest number of the ‘Gold Card’ wins the round.
- The ‘Gold Card’ can only be played if you DO NOT have the colour of the card that was played to start the round.
Spoiler Cards
- A
player can only have one spoiler card at a time.
This card
allows you to drop any extra rounds you may have won onto one or more players
Use this card
to steal rounds from one or more players and add it to yours.
This
card can only be used when predicting the winning rounds. It cannot be used if
you predict 0. At the end of the hand if your prediction is correct, you will
be rewarded double the points but if you predicted incorrectly then you will lose
double the points
Using
this card denies the action of all the other spoiler cards. It can also be used
to deny the ‘Double Card’
- The ‘Double Card’ must be played when the
player(s) is making their predictions at the start of the round. All other
spoiler cards can be used anytime during the hand or at the end of a hand.
- Once used the cards should be placed at the
bottom of the red set.
- If you predicted correctly without using the ‘Drop
Card’ or the ‘Steal Card’ you may pick another spoiler card before dealing the
next hand.
Let’s play Predict
- On the app start a ‘New Game’.
- On the ‘Add Players’ page add the names of the players. Start
from your left and carry on clockwise. If a player’s name is entered incorrectly,
you can select the name of the player from the list and delete it.
- Once all the names have been added tap ‘Start Game’.
- Separate the blue and red cards.
- Deal 5 blue cards and 1 red card to each player.
- On the ‘Scoreboard’ page tap ‘Predict’.
- The player whose name was entered first will start the game
and thereafter it will follow the sequence shown on the ‘Scoreboard’ page.
- To record the prediction, press the + or - buttons and tap
‘Next’.
- If any player wishes to use the ‘Double Card’ toggle the
switch. The ‘Double Card’ cannot be used if the player predicted 0.
- Once all the players have precited, the app will return to
the ‘Scoreboard’ page.
- The ‘Scoreboard’ page will show the predictions in red. If a player is using the ‘Double Card’ the extra
points will be shown in blue.
- The player who predicted first starts the game by placing a single
card in the centre.
- The round continues in a clockwise direction. Each player must
place a card in front of them that matches the colour of the card in the
centre. If a player doesn’t have the
matching card, they can place a card of any other colour.
- If no gold card(s) were played, then the player with the
highest card matching the colour of the card in the centre wins the round.
- If gold card(s) were played, then the player with the
highest gold card wins the round.
- The player that won the round should collect all the cards played
and leave them stacked in a set, in front of them. These cards cannot be reused
until the hand is completed.
- The player who won the round starts the next round by
placing a single card in the centre. Repeat from step 13.
- Once all the cards have been played players have one final
chance to use their spoiler cards before inputting the scores.
- To input the scores, tap on the ‘Score’ button on the
‘Scoreboard’ page.
- On the ‘Score’ page input the result of each players
prediction. Once completed tap ‘Submit’.
- The app will return to the ‘Scoreboard’ page. The green
tiles reflect the current score of the players who predicted correctly. Players
who predicted incorrectly lose points equal to their prediction. Players who
predicted 0 will be awarded 1 point if their prediction was correct and lose 1
point if their prediction was incorrect.
- Players without a ‘Spoiler Card’ get to pick one if they
predicted correctly without using the ‘Drop Card’ or the ‘Steal Card’.
- Repeat from step 5.
- The player(s) to score 20 points first wins the game.
