How to Play

Object of the Game

Predict exactly how many rounds you will win each hand. Score points for correct predictions, lose points for mistakes. The first player to score 20 points wins the game.

Get to Know the Cards

The deck consists of a blue set of ‘Playing Cards’ and a red set of ‘Spoiler Cards’.

🔵 Playing Cards

  • Numbered 1-10 and split in four colours (40 cards total).
  • The highest number of the same colour card wins the round.
  • Unless a ‘Gold Card’ (trump card) is played, in which case the highest ‘Gold Card’ wins.
  • The ‘Gold Card’ can only be played if you DO NOT have the colour of the card that was played to start the round.

🔴 Spoiler Cards

These cards modify the game rules or scoring. There are 24 cards total (6 of each type).

Drop Card

Drop Card

Allows you to drop extra rounds you may have won onto other players.

Steal Card

Steal Card

Steal rounds from one or more players and add them to your own tally.

Double Card

Double Card

Double your points for a correct prediction (or double the loss!). Must be played during prediction.

Deny Card

Deny Card

Block the action of other spoiler cards. The ultimate defense.

Spoiler Card Rules

  • Players can only hold one Spoiler Card at a time.
  • The ‘Double Card’ must be played when making predictions at the start.
  • All other spoiler cards can be used anytime during the hand or at the end.
  • Once used, place cards at the bottom of the red deck.
  • Picking a New Spoiler Card:
    • If you have no spoiler card and predicted correctly: Pick a new one.
    • If you played Double/Deny and predicted correctly: Pick a replacement.
    • If you played Drop/Steal: You cannot pick a replacement immediately (even if you predicted correctly).

Let’s Play Predict

Setup

  1. In the Scoring App, start a ‘New Game’ and add players in clockwise order (starting from your left). Then tap ‘Start Game’.
  2. Separate the blue and red cards.
  3. Deal 5 blue cards and 1 red card to each player.
  4. Tap ‘Predict’. Players enter their predictions in turn. (The starting player rotates each hand — look for the 👑 icon).
  5. Double Card: If using, toggle the switch. (Cannot be used if predicting 0).
  6. Once all predicted, app returns to ‘Scoreboard’. Predictions in red (blue if doubled).

Start Playing

  1. First Player places a single card in the centre.
  2. Clockwise: Each player places a card matching the centre colour. If no match, play any colour.
  3. Winning the Round:
    • The highest card of the led colour wins.
    • Gold Cards trump all other colours.
  4. Winner collects cards (stack them). These are safe until hand ends.
  5. Winner starts next round. Repeat until all 5 cards played.
  6. Last Chance: Use spoiler cards before scoring!

Scoring

  1. Tap ‘Score’ on the Scoreboard.
  2. Input results for each player and ‘Submit’.
  3. Correct predictions (Green) gain points. Incorrect predictions (Red) lose points. (Predicting 0: Correct +1, Incorrect -1).
  4. New Spoiler: Pick a new card ONLY if you predicted correctly AND:
    • You had no spoiler card to start with, OR
    • You just played a Double or Deny card.
    • (playing Drop or Steal prevents picking a new card this turn).
  5. Repeat from Deal Phase.
  6. Winner: First to 20 points!
